More Than. Keeping up with the times
An inspirational edition with En-Joi, on a Thursday.
Hello!
I promised in the last letter that we would return with ... your business vision. Perfect! I really didn't know when I wrote that that a shocking announcement was about to appear, at least for me. The famous TV station MTV is set to close. Bam! After 40 years of activity, after entire generations of musicians, one after another, after entire generations of viewers waiting for hit after hit. But the truth is the truth. The famous MTV has bowed before the new leaders YouTube and Tik-Tok.
This may seem cynical, but it is as true as it can be. Times are changing, consumer behavior is changing. It seems that no one has patience anymore, although I have said this before. We live, more and more frequently, in a world of superficiality, speed, and lack of meaning. My opinion, don't judge me for it! Maybe I'm too nostalgic thinking about the era of the great classics of music like ABBA, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, and many, many others. Yes, and back then it was about business, about money or audience. But it was also about talent and evident art. As I said, times are changing. So!
The main quality of an entrepreneur is to keep up with the times. There are several textbook cases on this topic. Let's mention the famous brand Nokia, number 1 in the mobile phone market in the 2000s, which did not understand that digitalization would be more than just a simple call? Yes! The vision of a business is linked to the desire to be where the world is changing. You cannot remain stuck in a vision of the past, if I may say so. Lately, the world is changing incredibly fast. Algorithms and AI are part of the life and DNA of the younger generation. What to do? Ignore this? You can't! You need to adapt your vision to the new times if you want to move forward. You don't have much choice. Nostalgia has no place in business.
What does the new vision mean? Optimization and an essential combination of IQ and AI. Speed and lower prices are required. In supermarkets, self-checkouts are becoming more and more common and used, scanning products directly at the cart is becoming a reality, individual billing has become the norm. Sounds frightening? Of course not! It is a digital trend that we must take into account and to which we must adapt.
The moral of this letter is about adaptability, whether we like it or not, whether we understand it or not. It is the digital generation, even if superficial. Your business vision must be on this page if you want it to survive. Yes, MTV nostalgia is only good when you want to relax, not when you want to perform.
See you at the next letter with en-joy! It will be about the values of a business in 2026.
