About consistency.

Yes, we don’t get bored too quickly, we give up when things don’t seem to be okay from the very first attempts.

And?

We give up on our dreams or projects exactly when we shouldn’t. Who said that the entrepreneur's life is easy? Money, expensive cars, exotic trips. Seriously?

All of this is the consequence of consistent management. If money is just a premise, then success will be a lottery.

Why are we talking today about consistency or “living coral ” in business?

Because we have seen way too many entrepreneurs, especially at the beginning of their journey, who want to give up so easily. That doesn’t work and that’s that! Period.

Seriously?

Businesses need time and consistency to be established. By the way! Do you know how much Coca-Cola sold in its first year, 1886? Only 9 glasses a day, now it sells 1.4 billion every day. Why is that? Because they were consistent.

At the beginning of these “Business Colours” episodes, we talked about mission, vision, and values. It seems theoretical, but in reality, it is business. This is only if you think about success and not just about money.

What does consistency mean?

Well, you need to be consistent with the principles of your business. If at the first hint of wind you shut off the engine, you are far from business. Trust makes you overcome obstacles, right?

Then, you need to be consistent with your employees. Yes, sometimes they perform, other times they do not.

By what consistent criteria do you assess that? You need to be consistent with performance values if you want employees for that. Assumptions or just personal “boss” opinions are not enough.

The ‘boss’ has not been, is not, and will never be a leader. Yes, boss?

Sometimes you need to change the direction of the business, to make tactical adjustments based on the times, with opportunities or barriers. That doesn’t mean you detach from consistency, that means strategy and adaptation.

Being consistent does not mean to please everyone. It is absolutely normal to have fans and haters. The worst thing is for people to be indifferent towards you. Then yes, you have an attitude problem.

Consistency also means specialization, a specialization that Romania desperately needs. We need to get past the Balkan phase, where it seems everyone knows how to do everything. Yes, it really seems that way. In reality, we nip here and nip there, without getting deep roots. Just superficiality and it seems that …

Specialization means specialists and it means performance. We always laugh when we hear about that legendary character “Dorel,” but we rarely apply or buy performance in business.

This is what today is about. People still look for cheap services, but without performance. We can't see our heads from work, but without notable results. So?
